Novotec are Consultants for various development Projects in Laos including the largest Hydropower Project, Nam Theun 2 Project (NT2).
Project Background The Nam Theun 2 Project : situated in the central region of Lao PDR (Khammouane and Bolikhamsai provinces), the NT2 project is the largest hydropower project in Laos to date. This 1080 MW trans-basin scheme will start operating late 2008, and the reservoir is being progressively filled since April 2008. At full supply level, the reservoir will cover 450 km2. NOVOTEC has been selected by EDF (Electricité de France) to participate to the work supervision for Civil Works, Mechanical Works, Electrical Works and the implementation of the Aquatic Environment Laboratory (NT2 AE Lab), on the NT2 site.
